Frederick, Maryland
The crew behindthe finish.
AS Home Solutions MD LLC — formerly A&S Drywall. One crew, one service area, every trade in-house. Here is who you are actually hiring.
Who you’re hiring
A drywall crew that kept learning trades.
AS Home Solutions MD started as A&S Drywall, hanging and finishing board for Maryland builders and homeowners. Drywall is still the trade the crew is fastest at — but it was never the whole job. A ceiling gets patched and then the room needs paint. A basement gets framed and then it needs trim, and tile, and a bathroom that works.
So the crew learned the trades on either side of the board, one at a time, until the list reached eleven: non-structural wood framing, metal framing, drywall, finishing, painting, finish carpentry, ceramic tile flooring, bathroom remodeling, concrete, pavers and floor coatings. The name changed to match what we actually do. Nothing else did.
What that buys you is sequence. The single most expensive thing on a renovation is not material — it is the week nobody shows up because the tile guy is waiting on the drywall guy who is waiting on the framer. When one crew owns all three, that week does not exist, and nobody gets to blame the trade before them for a finish that came out wrong.
If we hang it, we finish it. If we finish it, we paint it. There is nobody left to point at when something isn’t right — which is exactly the point.

(301) 524-1729What we hold ourselves to
Four things that do not move.
Everything else about a renovation is negotiable — scope, finish, schedule, budget. These four are how we work in Frederick & Central Maryland, on every job, at every size.
One crew owns the sequence
Framing, board, tile, paint and trim run through the same people, in order. Nobody waits on a trade that has not been booked yet.
The number comes first
A walkthrough, then a written scope and a price. If opening a wall changes it, you hear about it before we carry on — not on the final invoice.
Your home stays a home
Floors covered, openings sealed, fixtures protected, and the site swept at the end of every day. You should be able to live in the rest of the house.
Straight answers, including no
If a job is load-bearing, or wants a licensed electrician, or is simply not something we do well, we say so at the estimate rather than after demo.
Our approach
The same six steps, whatever the trade.
One ceiling or a whole basement build-out, the sequence does not change: we walk the real rooms, price it in writing, then run every trade the job touches in the order that keeps the next one from waiting.

- 01
Walkthrough & Estimate
We look at the actual rooms, talk through the finish you want, and put a clear number in writing before anything starts.
- 02
Scope & Schedule
Every trade in the job gets sequenced up front, so framing, board, tile and paint land in the right order without dead days.
- 03
Prep & Protection
Floors covered, openings sealed, fixtures protected. The prep is what keeps the rest of your home out of the job.
- 04
Build & Install
Framing set true, board hung tight, tile laid to line, concrete poured level — each stage checked before the next covers it.
- 05
Finish & Touch-Up
Sanded flat, caulked, cut in and raked with a light to catch what the eye misses, then touched up until it reads clean.
- 06
Clean Handover
Debris out, surfaces wiped, and a final walk with you before we call it done. No shortcuts, no rushed finishes.

Where we work
Ninety minutes of Frederick.
That is the whole rule. If your home is inside a ninety-minute drive of our yard in Frederick, we work there — eight Maryland counties, Hagerstown across to Annapolis.
We hold the line on purpose. A short drive is what lets the same crew show up every morning, keeps us fluent in which county inspector is coming, and makes a punch-list visit a favour rather than a logistics problem.

Before you hire anyone
Straight answers about us
Not covered here? Call and ask — you’ll get a real answer, not a “depends on the job”.
Yes. Same owner, same crew, same phone number. The name changed to AS Home Solutions MD because "drywall" stopped describing what we actually do — the crew now self-performs eleven trades, from non-structural framing through paint, tile, bathrooms, concrete, pavers and floor coatings. If you worked with us as A&S Drywall, nothing about who shows up has changed.
Yes. Home improvement work in Maryland is regulated by the Maryland Home Improvement Commission, and we carry general liability coverage. Ask for the certificate and the licence number before you sign anything — with us or with anyone else. A contractor who hesitates at that question has told you something.
We are based in Frederick, MD, and we work anywhere inside about a 90-minute drive of it — 8 Maryland counties, Hagerstown across to Annapolis. We do not take work in Washington, DC, and we do not cross into Virginia, Pennsylvania or West Virginia. Short drives are what let the same crew come back for a punch-list item next week instead of next month.
The eleven trades listed on this site are self-performed by our own crew. Where a job needs a licensed electrician or plumber, that work goes to a licensed trade and we tell you so in the estimate. Nobody hands your job to a stranger halfway through.
We walk the job, then send a written scope and a number. Not a day rate, not a verbal ballpark that drifts. If we open a wall and find something that changes the price, you hear about it before we continue — an estimate that only moves in one direction after the deposit is not an estimate.
Mostly owner-occupied houses and townhomes, plus landlords and property managers turning over units, and some light commercial interiors. A single room and a whole-floor renovation get the same crew and the same standard.
